This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with artist Rhonda K. Brown to, together, create your very own 11x17 commissioned portrait piece on beautiful archival paper.
The images shown here are examples of Rhonda's portraits. Rhonda Brown, (b. Cleveland, OH 1969) is an American painter living and working in Chicago. Primarily a figurative painter and portraitist, Brown studies color, the use of gestural strokes, and exaggeration to present everyday Black experiences in a classical context.
This is a quasi commission--what does that mean?
The artist has: -Selected the size of the work 11x17, -identified the medium (soft body acrylic/gouache on paper), -provided direction on the subject matter--the human figures
The collector (customer): -selects the palette -determines the narrative of the work -chooses the setting (internal/external) -and selects the pose of the figure (seated or standing)
Thats how we COLLABORATE!
The final 11x17 piece will be shipped, upon completion, to the collector--unframed.
Rhonda suggests that the final pieces are placed on an archival mat board using archival materials and floated within a frame of your choosing.
